Recognition
BharatVidya was launched by the Hon. Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman on September 21, 2022. Earlier in 2021, during his Mann Ki Baat broadcast, Hon. Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi commended BORI's Mahabharata course.
BharatVidya.in provides structured and accessible online courses on Indian history, culture, Sanskrit, Vedic literature, archaeology, and Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS). Each course is designed by scholars and researchers with decades of expertise in their disciplines.
The goal of BharatVidya is to make India's vast civilisational knowledge available to learners, educators, and institutions through well-researched, academically rigorous, and easy-to-understand content. Our courses are aligned with the vision of NEP 2020 and help build foundational understanding of Indian heritage for students across disciplines. BharatVidya is a joint initiative of the Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute (Pune) and Matra Media.
